"Vladimir" RED ARMY SCOUT, AUSTRIA SPRING 1945 (PRIVATE)
Red Army Scout "Vladimir" represents the vanguard WWII Soviet
infantryman on the verge of victory. With the Eastern Front crumbling and the
capture of Vienna in March 1945, very little separated the Red Army from bulling
its way to the heart of Berlin. Soviet Scout "Vladimir" is dressed as a late-war
Red Army soldier, with the characteristic stand-up collar gymnastiorka tunic and
pilotka sidecap. Over his uniform, he wears a unique camouflage hooded coverall
often used by scouts in advance of regular army units. His distinctive
appearance and PPSh submachine gun weapon give him a 'classic' Red Army soldier
profile -- en route to Hitler's bunker and final victory!
